Work
See AllAuthentic Media
Publishing house Authentic Media invited us to generate publicity for a novel written by new author Claire Connor. So we did.
Goal
Create a buzz to boost sales of a new novel – Rosie: Note to Self.
Solution
We needed to make a big hit on a limited budget. We targeted female-focused national media to reach a mass market with the readers that were most likely to buy the book.
We backed this with a regional press and broadcast campaign including a press-ready feature. In addition, we used social media – Twitter and a bespoke blog – to hit ‘chick-lit’ readers who would most relate to the book.
We gave the author, Claire Connor, training in how to handle the media and social media training for the blog and Twitter account.
Impact
The highlight of an incredibly successful campaign was a full colour, double-page spread in the Mail on Sunday’s YOU magazine which has a circulation of two million readers.
Sales soared on the back of a campaign that netted articles across national and regional press as well as TV and radio.
Claire and her novel received coverage in local and regional media such as the Yorkshire Post and Living North, and Calendar TV. Claire has another four books on the way, and her media training has prepared her for her next round of interviews.
Nice touch
Claire’s novel outstripped sales of Dan Brown’s eagerly awaited blockbuster The Lost Symbol in her home town of Scarborough after they were both released on the same weekend.
