Rail jobs boost – NECC reaction

Responding to today’s announcement regarding the Intercity Express Programme, James Ramsbotham, chief executive of the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC), said:

“This is absolutely phenomenal news for the region. This important announcement brings train building back to the home of the railways which is testament to the skills that we still have in this sector and the high-quality workforce that will be assembled to deliver this work.

“We now have to bring together the businesses that will make up the supply chain so it is not just the 500+ jobs that are on the site but also the potentially thousands more that will support the Hitachi plant. As we saw with Nissan, a home grown supply chain based in the North East increases the economic benefits exponentially and we need to be fit and ready to support Hitachi in every way that we can.”

“Lindsay personifies creativity. No matter what message you're trying to get across, she comes up with a story that's novel and that works. Lindsay is also generous with her time and ideas, and is genuinely a lovely person to work with. She has helped me with story development, writing press releases and managing press release distribution - and her success rate with having articles published speaks for itself. Highly recommended"
